Andretti back on track for Paris ePrix

It was a disappointing end to last weekend’s Monaco ePrix for American Formula E team MS Amlin Andretti.

Looking on track to score points with both drivers, Antonio Félix da Costa and Robin Frijns, it was disappointment for the team with just one lap to go.

With one lap to go Frijns was defeated by an energy regeneration issue, whilst Felix da Costa was penalised for an unsafe release at his pit-stop with 33 seconds added to his eclipsed race time.

This was a disappointing result for the BMW powered team.

High hopes in Paris

Now the team’s hopes turn to Paris as Formula E returns almost immediately to the streets for the 5th race of the season.

How do the drivers feel about their chances this weekend?

Félix da Costa is currently 13th on the driver standing and he comments;

“Paris is going to be an interesting race. It’s a crazy tight track and mixed weather forecasts, it could be a really interesting weekend.”

Frijns has already shown his determined mind-set after fighting back to fitness following a training accident that damaged ligaments in his right knee. Frijns comments;

“We've had a difficult time the past few races and we are looking to finally get back into the points in Paris. The team has been working very hard for a good finish.”

It has been a difficult season for MS Amlin Andretti, who only scored points in the first race held Hong Kong. Finishing in 5th and 6th Félix da Costa and Frijns secured 18 points for the team, but look to Paris to finish what started in Monaco.

Paris is the home race of Formula E of sorts. Meeting over dinner in Paris, back in 2011, FIA President Jean Todt, Formula E Chief Executive, Alejandro Agag and then president of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani conceived the vison that would materials into an all-Electric racing series.

Renault E.Dams leads the standings with 152 points.
